Soldiers Demolish Home of Hamas Commander Behind Deadly Attacks
Israeli soldiers demolished the Jenin Battalion commander's home, Raafat Dawasi, responsible for deadly 2024 attacks in Israel.
Jerusalem, 18 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — israeli soldiers demolished the home of a Hamas terrorist responsible for two deadly attacks in 2024, the Israel Defense Forces said.
Raafat Dawasi, the commander of Hamas’ Jenin Battalion, was killed in a drone strike near Jenin in August 2024. He was involved in a June 27 roadside bomb attack in Jenin that killed Capt. Alon Sacgiu, 22, and wounded 16 soldiers. He was also behind an August 11 shooting in the Jordan Valley that killed Yonatan Deutsch, 23, and injured another man.
Parallel to the the demolition operation in the Jenin-area village of Silat al-Harithiya, soldiers also arrested several terror suspects and seized illegal weapons.
