Jerusalem, 7 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Jerusalem District Court sentenced the two perpetrators of the terrorist car ramming attack in the Jerusalem Romema neighborhood in April 2024 that injured four people to 28 years in prison. The two are Hebron residents, one of whom was a minor at the time the offenses were committed, and the other, is Muhammad Mahmoud. They were convicted of four counts of attempted murder in the context of a terrorist act and related offenses, following a combined attack involving a car ramming and an attempted shooting and stabbing that they carried out in Jerusalem.

According to the conviction verdict, the defendants conspired to carry out a terrorist attack aimed at murdering Jewish citizens. To this end, they equipped themselves in advance with a vehicle, an improvised submachine gun, ammunition, knives and an axe, changed the vehicle’s license plates and entered Israel illegally. Upon arriving in the Romema neighborhood of Jerusalem, they identified four Haredi citizens, accelerated their vehicle towards them and injured them. They then tried to shoot and stab them, but were unable to complete their plan due to a malfunction in the weapon.

The court, as stated, sentenced each of the defendants to 28 years in prison, suspended sentences, and financial compensation for the victims of the crime. It also ordered the confiscation of the means used to carry out the attack. The court noted that “the defendants committed their actions during a time of war on several fronts while the country is bleeding and suffering from the consequences of the terrorist attack of October 7, and members of the security forces are working day and night to protect the country’s borders.

Jerusalem, 4 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) reported that Sunday evening it rushed forces to the Ma’ayan Ateret area in north of Jerusalem following a report of a suspected car-ramming terror attack during which an Israeli citizen was lightly injured.

IDF forces are currently carrying out roadblocks, cordoning off Ramallah and Bir Zeit and searching the area for the suspect.

Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that its personnel provided medical treatment to a 13-year-old Israeli boy who was hit by a vehicle, apparently a Palestinian one, in what seems to have been a deliberate ramming attack on a highway in Samaria. The boy was brought to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in mild condition, fully conscious, with a minor injury to his hand.

Also, MDA teams provided medical treatment to a Palestinian who was shot in the upper limb and whose condition is said to be moderate.

Jerusalem, 28 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Police reported that Sunday morning a police officer was slightly injured (according to medical sources) when a driver hit him with his car in the Atarot area in northern Jerusalem and fled the scene on foot.

A large police force was called to the scene and is conducting searches for the suspect.

Jerusalem, 4 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Saturday afternoon a suspicious vehicle arrived at the Ras Bidu checkpoint on the edge of Jerusalem, “quickly” entered the checkpoint and hit another vehicle that was parked there, said the police. The driver of the vehicle that was hit was slightly injured and was taken to receive medical treatment.

The terrorist attacker got out of his vehicle and fled on foot towards the village of Bidu. Border Police at the checkpoint gave chase, fired into the air and captured him.

There were no casualties among Israeli forces and the suspect was arrested and transferred to the security forces for further investigation.

The Magen David Adom Spokesperson said a 49-year-old woman was injured after being hit by a vehicle near the checkpoint. Its medics and paramedics are provided medical treatment and took her to the hospital in minor condition with injuries to her head and limbs.

MDA paramedic Eviatar Yamin said: “They brought us the woman who was injured in the incident after she was in her vehicle when a vehicle hit it. We provided her with medical treatment and evacuated her to the hospital in a minor condition.”

Jerusalem, 9 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Eight victims of yesterday’s shooting attack in Jerusalem remain hospitalized this morning.

The Shaare Zedek Medical Center reported two women in intensive care, sedated and on ventilators, in serious but stable condition, while four additional women underwent surgery overnight for moderate injuries.

Of the four victims being treated at the Hadassah-Mount Scopus Hospital, one with a gunshot wound is in moderate condition and three are in mild condition.

The Hadassah-Ein Kerem Hospital is caring for four others, including one with a moderate gunshot injury.

Meanwhile, more than 30 people suffering anxiety have sought help at a temporary mental health center at Shaare Zedek, which will remain open in the coming days.

Six people were killed in the attack.

Jerusalem, 8 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and Israel Police identified the terrorists from Monday morning’s deadly shooting attack in jerusalem as Mutna Omar and Muhammad Taha.

Omar, 20, was a resident of the Palestinian village of Al-Qubeiba. Taha, 21, was a resident of Qatanna. Both villages are in the Binyamin region. The Shin Bet said Omar and Taha had no previous arrests.

Both were killed at the scene.

Six people were killed and 12 were injured when Omar and Taha fired on Israelis at a junction in northern Jerusaelem.

Jerusalem, 8 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Six people were killed and 12 wounded, six of them seriously, when two Palestinian gunmen opened fire at vehicles and pedestrians at Jerusalem’s Ramot Junction on Monday morning. The attackers, reported to be from villages near Ramallah, arrived at the junction shortly after 10 a.m., targeting people waiting at a bus stop and passengers on a just-arrived bus.

Police said the attackers were shot dead by a soldier and several civilians at the scene. The soldier, off duty at the time, was a squad commander in Israel’s Hasmonean Brigade, a unit for Haredi Orthodox troops. Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel’s emergency medical service, said four victims were declared dead at the scene, while two others succumbed to injuries after being rushed to hospital. Six people remained in serious condition, two were moderately wounded, and three sustained minor injuries.

Dashcam footage circulated online showing terrified pedestrians scrambling as gunfire erupted. In one clip, a taxi driver calmly helped an elderly passenger to safety as a bullet shattered a bus windshield nearby.

The names of four of the six victims were released: Yaakov Pinto, 25, an immigrant from Spain who had recently married; Rabbi Levi Yitzhak Pash, a maintenance worker at a Jerusalem yeshiva; Rabbi Israel Mentzer, 28; and Yosef David, 43, both residents of Ramot where the attack occurred. Additional victims included Rabbi Mordechai Steintzag, 79, a former U.S. doctor who founded a bakery in Beit Shemesh, and Sarah Mendelson, 60, a youth movement worker who lived in the capital.

According to authorities, the attackers set out from the Palestinian villages of Al-Qubeiba and Qatanna, west of Jerusalem. The gunmen used improvised “Carlo” submachine guns, small arms commonly manufactured in illegal Palestinian workshops. Police recovered the firearms, ammunition, and a knife. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said troops were deployed to encircle the villages and search for potential accomplices.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the site alongside National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. Netanyahu offered condolences to the victims’ families and called the attack part of “a mighty war against terror taking place on all fronts.” He added, “Security forces have thwarted hundreds of attacks this year, but unfortunately, not this morning.”

President Isaac Herzog condemned the attack, saying: “This shocking attack reminds us once again that we are fighting absolute evil. The world must understand what we are up against, and that terror will never defeat us.”

Netanyahu had been scheduled to testify in his criminal trial on Monday but was excused due to the attack. He subsequently held a security assessment with the heads of Israel’s security establishment.

Hamas did not claim responsibility but called on Palestinians in Judea and Samaria to “escalate the confrontation with the occupation and its settlers.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, today, at the scene of the terrorist attack at Ramot Junction in Jerusalem:

“We are at war, an intense war against terrorism on several fronts.

First, I would like to send condolences to the families of those who were murdered and, of course, best wishes for a quick recovery to those who were wounded.

When I say that we are in an intense war on several fronts, we have had – of course – major successes against the terrorist regimes and terrorist organizations. However, the war is continuing – both in the Gaza Strip, where we will destroy Hamas as we have promised and release our hostages, all of our hostages, and – unfortunately – in Jerusalem as well.

In Judea and Samaria, we have taken very strong action. The ISA, IDF and the Israel Police have thwarted hundreds of terrorist attacks this year but – unfortunately – not this morning.

We are now engaged in pursuit and are cordoning off the villages from which the murderers came. We will apprehend whoever aided and dispatched them, and we will take even stronger steps.

I would like to state as clearly as possible: These murders and attacks, in all sectors, will not weaken us. They will only increase our determination to complete the mission we have taken upon ourselves, in Gaza, Judea and Samaria, and everywhere.

We are fighting terrorism – the terrorist Houthi regime; in Iran, which backs them all; in Gaza in Lebanon; Hezbollah and in all sectors. We are not relenting, nor will we. We will intensify our operations, and we will achieve all of our objectives.”

Jerusalem, 8 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The names of four of the six people murdered in this morning’s shooting attack in Jerualem were released.

Yaakov Pinto, 25, immigrated from Spain and was recently married.

Rabbi Levi Yitzhak Pash taught at a Jerusalem yeshiva.

Israel Mentzer, 28, and Yosef David, 43, were residents of the Ramot neighborhood.
