Government Extends Free Public Transportation Benefits for Communities Affected by Wars
Jerusalem, 27 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The government approved on Sunday the request of the Minister of Transportation and Road Safety, Miri Regev, to extend the benefit of free travel on public transportation until the end of the year for evacuees from the communities affected by Operation “Rising Lion,” for the families of the hostages held in Gaza, the missing, and those returning to Israel.
The benefit, which was supposed to end at the end of October and was extended until the end of the year, will also apply to residents of the communities of Be’eri, Hulit, Kissufim, Kfar Gaza and Nir Oz, as long as essential work for the return of residents to the community has not been completed in these communities, according to a statement from the Tekuma administration.
The benefit is a direct continuation of the steps taken by the ministry in the first period after the war, when new “Rav-Kav” (multi-ride prepaid transportation) cards were granted to evacuees, along with additional essential licensing services, in the hotels to which they were evacuated, with the aim of ensuring freedom of movement, transportation continuity and real assistance to those who lost their homes. This is based on the experience gained in assisting evacuees of the “Renaissance” War, which included many benefits, including free flights to Eilat, service stations in hotels, and more.
