Jerusalem, 26 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure announced another step towards increasing natural gas exports to Egypt: The three gas exporters: the Tamar Partnership, the Leviathan Partnership, and the Energean Company signed the agreement which is intended to establish the new “Ramat Hovav – Nitzana” natural gas line, which will be used to export natural gas from Israel to Egypt.
The new export line will be established with an investment of two billion Shekels ($610 million), and will be fully financed by the exporters. This is in accordance with the decision of the Council for Natural Gas Affairs from August 2023 and construction is expected to take about three years.
The agreement signed between the parties will allow the start of work on the line and its accompanying compression station – a project that is expected to increase the state’s revenues from natural gas exports as well as the revenues of the Israel Natural Gas Corporation for the benefit of consumers of the natural gas sector, strengthen cooperation with Egypt, and continue to promote the development of the natural gas sector for the benefit of the entire Israeli economy.
