Israel Rejects IJC’s Opinion Clearing UN Agency of Terror Ties Calling It ‘Politicization of International Law’
Jerusalem, 22 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Foreign Ministry released a statement Wednesday evening “categorically” rejecting the ICJ’s “advisory opinion,” which it said was “entirely predictable from the outset regarding UNRWA (UN Relief Works Agency). This is yet another political attempt to impose political measures against Israel under the guise of “International Law.”
On Thursday the International Court of Justice issued an “opinion” rejecting Israel’s position that UNWRA does not operate as an independent agency in Gaza and instead is used as a tool by Hamas, which is why the Israeli government banned the organization.
“Today’s ICJ advisory opinion should have called out the terrorist activity that UNRWA has been involved in,” said the Foreign Ministry adding, “UNRWA employees directly took part in the October 7th massacre and continue to assist Hamas’s terrorist operations – all under the auspices of the United Nations. Hamas terror activity within UNRWA took place before the October 7th massacre, during the massacre, and after the massacre. Israel provided the UN with extensive evidence proving Hamas’s infiltration into UNRWA, but the UN has never investigated the full extent of that infiltration. To this day, UNRWA still employs more than 1,400 Hamas operatives. Israel will not cooperate with an organization that is infested with terror activities.”
The Foreign Ministry also stated that Israel “fully upholds its obligations under International Law” and that Israel “fully rejects the politicization of International Law,” which, it said, “seeks to produce political outcomes and impose measures intended to harm the State of Israel.”
