Jerusalem, 21 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure is promoting an innovative project for the environmental treatment of dairy farm wastewater and the production of clean energy from agricultural waste. The Israeli company Sustainable Green Technologies (SGTech), which specializes in developing solutions for the environmental treatment of agricultural wastewater while producing clean energy, has received support from the ministry in the amount of 1.2 million Shekels ($360,000) out of a total budget of 2.4 million Shekels ($720,000).
The technology in the project is based on an accelerated anaerobic digestion process that breaks down organic waste from dairy farms and converts it into methane-rich biogas. Unlike conventional processes, the innovative technology combines smart control by measuring chemical and engineering parameters, DNA analysis, and mRNA expression. The data is stored in a dedicated database and processed using BI and artificial intelligence systems to produce informed insights.
The technology, said the Ministry, promises impressive performance: a 30% increase in energy production, a reduction of up to 70% in nitrogen and 50% in phosphorus, and a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to existing biogas facilities. The solution enables compliance with strict environmental regulations and creates economic viability even for medium-sized farms.
