Jerusalem, 30 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology published today (Tuesday) a first-of-its-kind strategic report on the BlueTech field – the sea as a national resource, which focuses on the maritime space as having tremendous economic, scientific and technological potential for the country and as part of a series of reports on areas of national priority in science and technology.
BlueTech are technologies that help clean up the seas and rivers of the world.
Israel is already at the global forefront in the fields of aquaculture, water technologies and desalination.
Growing business ecosystem: The report reveals that 114 companies are currently operating in Israel in the BlueTech sector, indicating a young industry in advanced stages of formation.
Approximately 800 scientific articles are published in Israel each year in the BlueTech fields, with 65% of them being published in the top quartile of the world’s leading journals – an extraordinary achievement that places Israel at the forefront of global research in terms of quality.
