Jerusalem, 25 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — In the months of January – August 2025, in Israel 313 people were killed in road accidents – 16 more deaths than the corresponding period in 2024.
In August 2025, the number of road accidents and the number of casualties were lower compared to August 2024 and compared to the average for August in 2021-2023, but the number of fatal accidents and the number of fatalities were higher.
In August 2025, 38 people were killed in traffic accidents. This was five more deaths compared to August 2024 (33) – an increase of 15.2%
There were 10 more deaths compared to the August monthly average in 2021-2023 (28) – an increase of 35.7%.
The number of accidents was 529, a decrease of 15.8% compared to August 2024 (628) and a decrease of 39.5% compared to the August monthly average in 2021-2023 (875).
The number of seriously injured in traffic accidents in August was 161, a decrease of 28.1% compared to August 2024 (224) and a decrease of 29.5% compared to the August average in 2021-2023 (228).
The number of casualties was 962, a decrease of 17.1% compared to August 2024 (1,161) and a decrease of 41.2% compared to the August monthly average in 2021-2023 (1,636).
